Age Concern Mallorca are already planning for Europe Day on 12th May and are looking for prizes (however big or small) for their tombola, which was very successful last year.  So, if anyone has a prize to donate could they either bring it to the next LACE lunch or contact Jill Witkamp.  They are also planning to have a “jar” stall with anything edible in a jar (chutneys, jam, marmalade, sweets, nuts, olives), if you would like to make something please again bring it along to the lunch or contact Jill.  If possible no labels on the jars except for on the lid, with contents and date it was made.

Contact Jill Witkamp for donations & prizes at

or for any other info. on Age Concern Mallorca, contact Jackie Codd at

Following the recent success of the charity event at Gaia on 4th January to raise funds for a water project in Thailand, Jane Rolfe, Trudy Murray and the team at Gaia are now holding regular Friday afternoon teas to raise further funds for the project.

Every Friday between 12:00 and 19:00 (throughout February and March) you can enjoy delicious scones and cream, little sandwiches and cakes with tea or coffee for 10€ per person at the Gaia Natural Shop in Palma.

Jane is raising the funds for her daughter Anni, with fellow Gordonstoun Sixth Form students, to travel to Thailand during the summer holidays to build much needed water tanks in a remote village.
