Womens communication network in Mallorca

AC Mallorca does not receive funding from AGE UK, any government or other organisation and is totally non- profit, non-political, non-denominational and non-judgemental. We are all unpaid VOLUNTEERS, who are altruistic citizens wishing to help others in a responsible, sensible, helpful way with the well-being of the elderly foremost in our minds.

WHAT WE DO

  • Loan of medical aids – wheelchairs, walking frames, commodes, toilet seat raisers, bath swivel chairs, crutches, etc.
  • Hospital and Residential Home visits
  • Delivery of Food Hampers to the elderly in need
  • Work in close connection with the British Consulate on numerous Lifeline cases
  • Social Services/hospital departments – assistance with welfare matters
  • Form filling – Spanish / British
  • Disability/Blue Badge applications
  • Assistance with renewal of British Passports and Gratis UK Passports
  • Signposting to nursing services
  • Signposting to Residential/Sheltered care homes/accommodation locally
  • Advance Funeral arrangements
  • Information on topics of interest to the over- 50s resident on Mallorca and mainland Spain
  • Talking Books
  • Fundraising
  • Cultural & Social events
  • Any information we receive is treated in the strictest of confidence and we are bound by the Data Protection Act/Ley de Proteción de Datos.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

  • Support our Hamper Appeal, now in 10th year
  • Assist with Fundraising (arrange an event in aid of AC Mallorca, help at events, donate prizes)
  • Promote and attend fundraising events held by or in aid of AC Mallorca
  • Become a volunteer / Residential Home Visiting Team
  • Spread awareness

The Federación de Age Concern España consists of individual (Age Concern) organisations: AC Almanzara, AC Costa Blanca Sur (Torrevieja), AC Costa Calida (Murcia), AC Costa de la Luz (Chiclana), AC Estepona & Manilva, AC Ibiza & Formentera, AC Mallorca, AC Menorca and ACASA – the National Casework Service of Age Concern España. Age Concern España was founded in 1994 and all AC organisations are fully registered non-profit Spanish charitable organisations, providing support and promoting the wellbeing of the over 50s in Spain since their creation.
